Case Study
Egan drills out paperwork with Krux Analytics
Location: Western Australia
Customer: Egan Drilling
Application: Data entry and analytics
Year: 2023
Egan Drilling, a leader in the drilling industry with over 40 years of experience, faced manual data collection and reporting challenges. This led to inefficiencies, delays, and difficulty in making data-driven decisions to optimise their drilling operations. To address these issues, Egan implemented a cloud-based data-management solution with mobile data entry and real-time data dashboards.
Challenges
Egan Drilling’s traditional methods created a number of challenges that hindered their efficiency.
Manual data entry from paper reports was a time-consuming process for drillers and other staff, leading to duplication of effort.
Additionally, the unstructured storage of this data made it difficult to access and analyse information quickly. This lack of real-time data visibility hampered Egan’s ability to make informed decisions about drilling operations.
Finally, without readily available insights from their data, Egan struggled to identify areas for improvement and streamline their workflows, ultimately impacting their overall drilling efficiency.
Krux application
Egan Drilling implemented Krux – a cloud-based drilling-data-management platform that addressed these challenges head-on.
Krux’s data entry application called KruxLog that works hand-in-hand with the data analytics dashboard called KruxMetrix served as the key solutions in streamlining data entry and analysis from the field. The preselected options eliminated the need for manual data entry, saving valuable time and reducing errors.
This streamlined approach not only improved efficiency but also ensured data accuracy.
The data entered through KruxLog goes directly to KruxMetrix, where it is processed and analysed. This central web dashboard displayed organised and readily accessible information in real time.
